Tundra Hike Day

This morning i work up and made the plan last night to go up to the highest point of the town. From where i am staying it seems like it was very far away and once i got to the bottom it would be quite a hike to the top. I was very wrong with my assumptions. I got to the bottom it had only taken me 5 minutes to walk. I had my head down while hiking up the fairly steep slope and when i picked my head up i had found myself going down the other side of the hill... it went by very fast. So i turned around and again climbed back to the peak of the small hill. From there it gave me a sweeet view of the town, airport, some inukshuks and the big frozen Frobisher Bay.

Today was a beautiful windy cold day . what better day for me to run into my first large hold up. pilots came back today saying that the right hand alternator didn't work. at first i was stumped then i realized it could be one of two things. the alternator or the controller. i asked my friends over at first air if they had a controller to spare me. they had one. i figured that was the easiest of the two to change on the ramp. Turns out i made a great decision and it was the easier one of the two. the ground run found that the system works perfectly. notice in the picture ... a smile. this was just before the pilot told me there was a problem... the smile disappeared fast. now it's back.

Welcome to Iqaluit!
